Consumer Champion is a capacity building programme of the European Commission, managed by the Consumers, Health, Agriculture and Food Executive Agency (Chafea) to support and develop the capacity of consumer organisations and other entities with similar objectives from EU Member states, EEA and candidate countries.Our partners
Consumer Champion has created a free online programme that offers consumer professionals and volunteers from either a consumer organisation, ECC or a public authority working in the field of consumer protection as well as anyone interested in EU consumer affairs, the opportunity to improve and certify their knowledge on consumer protection.
Directors and supervisors can sign up interested candidates by completing the form at the bottom of the page. Any other participant can directly apply and then complete the programme for free, in any of the 14 languages available.
The certifications are broken down as displayed below:
Advanced Consumer Rights Certificate
This certification consists of 3 e-learning modules. Users must complete Consumer Law as the first module, Consumer Law II as the second and Digital Services as the third. Each e-learning module takes up to 5 hours to complete, and participants are invited to do them at their own pace within a period of 3 months.
Specialised Consumer Rights Certificate
This certification consists of the 3 e-learning modules from the Advanced Certificate and an option to specialise in one, two or three of the remaining e-learning modules. Users can become specialised in Financial Services, Telecommunications and/or Energy. Each e-learning module takes up to 5 hours to complete, and participants are invited to do them at their own pace within a period of 6 months.
