BEUC, the European Consumer Organisation, together with its partners SIVECO (a Romanian IT company specialised in e-learning) and DARA Creative (an Irish web design company) have been entrusted by the European Commission to run the “capacity building programme for consumer professionals”, Consumer Champion.  Under the Consortium, BEUC is the project leader.

The Consortium has the right mix of expertise to accomplish this task. It is composed of organisations with strong expertise in the different areas of the project and with a solid track-record in the implementation of successful similar complex projects to meet all requirements. BEUC has carried out the previous EU capacity building programme for consumer organisations, the “TRACE” programme - Training for Consumer Empowerment– that  ended in June 2012 and enabled training of 1,433 trainees from 30 countries and both BEUC partners are currently implementing the consumer education website Consumer Classroom (former Dolceta).
